Ask the Readers: Is Ubuntu the new switch? – Lifehacker
I’m of two minds about this. On the one hand I love Ubuntu, and it is quickly becoming my favorite Linux distro. On the other hand, I love Mac OS X, and it’s my favorite OS period. I don’t think the defection to Ubuntu from OS X is anywhere near as prevalent as many claim. Every argument I’ve read about why one should switch doesn’t hold water and mostly seem to be arguments against DRM and iTunes. To which I say, if you don’t like iTunes don’t install it. More and more it sounds like a geek reaction to OS X becoming more popular and a desire to be in the OS minority.
